The Grind: Consider The Price Before You Start
Working 70+ hours a week is an insane idea.
In fact, the whole concept of “hard work” is pretty nuts when you think about it.
The whole concept basically says that we need to work 10, 12, 14, or even 16 hours a day to succeed and cannot succeed any other way.
This overused idea proclaims that the reason those that got success got there is because they worked hard, grinded every day, and because they did not see the light of day most days as they never stepped away from their work.
It idolizes a grind that is currently being misunderstood, misinterpreted, and not healthy.
The reason some people proclaim they can do this, or show that they can is to entice others to work harder, but that is not something anyone can do instantly.
“Hard work” in the way it is idolized, can only occur when one changes their entire life to accommodate such a work life.
Let’s look at a common used example of hard work: Elon Musk.
Now Elon Musk proclaims to have worked very hard and to have grinded out many 100+ hour weeks.
What he does not share as openly is what the rest of his life looked like that supported this.
