The Hardest Part Of Getting Older: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

As children we were completely blissful because we were utterly ignorant about the world ahead of us.

We believed everybody loved us, believed we could do whatever we want for no cost at all, believed the world revolved around us and we even thought the sun rose in the morning just to wake us up.

We did not have to worry about climate change, starvation, war, endangered species, politics, poverty, sexism, racism, inflation or anything else because we had no idea any of those even existed.

We had no concept of money, fame, success, achievement or power and therefore didn’t care for any of it.

All we wanted was to have fun.

In getting older, however, we began to understand the world around us more and more.

We gained more freedoms in what we did, when we did it, and what we focused on.

By the time we became adults we had all the freedom in the world, and even have that freedom now.

But with that freedom came responsibilities.

We had to pay for our own food and accommodation, had to figure out how to manage our time, our work, hobbies and relationships, and were even responsible for how the world developed.
