The Reason I Chase My Dreams

In chaos theory there is an effect known as the Butterfly Effect.

The idea is that something as small as a Butterfly flapping its wings at exactly the right time and place, can cause a massive hurricane somewhere down the line.

This is often talked about in movies, books and TV shows that deal with Time Travel, as one tiny change can lead to the entire world being different.

Personally, I believe that there is some truth to this; or rather, I choose to believe that this can be a reality.

That one smile given by a cashier, one compliment given in passing, or one positive act of kindness can alter the course of the world for the better.

It is that possibility, that one tiny chance that something that I do now changes the world forever, for which I work so hard.

And I do not even mean the world as we all know it. It is enough that there is a chance that my actions change someone’s world for the better.

Maybe someone will read this answer tonight, or tomorrow, or in a year from now, and it will make them smile.

They might take that small smile downstairs where they give their partner an extra kiss.

That kiss may lead to their partner being just that little bit happier, and because of that they…
