This Is Why Some Humans Are Small Thinkers

Most of the time this has to do with them living in their comfort zones.

People are happy where they are comfortable.

They surround themselves with like-minded people, setting up routines and becoming beings of habit.

Eventually, they realize that the life they created is boring and unfulfilling, but it will require a lot of work to change.

After all, they created this life for a reason, meaning they will also loose a lot when this changes.

This creates a contradictory belief in their mind!

On one hand they feel like they should change something, while on the other they know there is value in what they created.

To support both beliefs they focus on petty issues.

They worry and complain about things that do not really matter to be able to pretend that they want a change. Yet their bark is bigger than their bite as nothing ever comes out of these complaints.

It’s important, however, to understand that people have a reason for their complaints!

The perfect examples for this are the elderly who often have a hard time adjusting to new times and ideas.

It’s not because they are opposed to these ideas, or because they are bad people at heart, but rather because they have spent decades believing certain things.

These things have brought them value, friendships, and have given them a way to live their life.

They have found purpose, passion and meaning because of these things and have lived their life based on these beliefs.

If the beliefs were to suddenly change it would lead them to question everything they’ve done related to that belief; which is something very few are brave enough or powerful enough to do.

Asking them to think about bigger issues forces them to rethink most of their life choices. It is a far heavier process for them than it is for younger people.

This can break people in the blink of an eye.

For example, a person who has given their life to protect their country, has seen friends die, and has even killed people in a far-off country, has a very strong belief to be able to do all of that.

If they were confronted with a different belief, one that made them question whether they really needed to do all that, they are confronted with the fact that they have ended lives and seen their comrades die for nothing.

It’s to prevent this that people hold on to their beliefs, think about small, petty issues and do not allow the world inside.

They do not do this because they don’t care. They do this because it might be too much for them to bear.
