What Exactly Is Jealousy And How Do You Combat It?
Jealousy comes from the thought of not having enough for yourself.
It is, simply put, a lack of certainty, confidence and happiness with your own life that makes you look to others.
People that are truly happy, as a counter example, are rarely, if never, jealous.
A person that is genuinely, honestly and fully happy with their life will find it very hard to be jealous of someone else for anything.
They may still look to others, but will often be happy about what the other person has, rather than jealous that they, themselves, do not have it.
If we reverse-engineer this, then it must mean that to overcome jealousy we must do more to be happy first.
Jealousy is a sign that there is something that we wish we would have in life, something that we believe we are lacking, or simply something that we want.
Rarely is it the first thing that comes to mind and more often than not that is a symptom of something deeper.
For instance, when we are jealous of others bank accounts, we are likely not jealous of the money they have but of the freedom that that money buys.
We may be jealous of the peace of mind they have or of the experiences they can make with that money…
