What Is It Like To Start Over?
There is no starting over.
No matter how much you may want to hit that reset button on life, it does not exist.
You can restart your career, can abandon a relationship in light of a new one, and can even break away from any family ties you had.
You can re-invent who you are, can gain a whole lot of new hobbies and skills, and can try your best to live a completely different life, but you will still be you.
Your memories will still have affected you and you will still be a person that has grown up the way you do.
In that sense, starting over completely at least, is impossible.
Life possesses no intro screen and no save states one can go back to.
You cannot scrap the draft and cannot level out the garden anymore.
Life will always move forward.
What is written cannot be unwritten, what is planted cannot be uprooted, just as who you used to be will never change.
That is, however, only true for who you used to be right up until this moment.
If you want to start over you can do so at any point in time.
For this you do not need a reset button and you do not need to scrap everything that’s been written in your story so…
