When Is The Right Time To Give Up On Your Dreams?
When clients ask me this question I prefer to ask one question in return: What’s your alternative?
Assume you do stop chasing your dreams, what will you do then?
What will your life look like?
Do you truly think life will be better, easier or more fun if you stop chasing what you truly want out of it?
Or is this just you wanting to avoid the responsibility of working for what you want?
I think it is never a good idea to stop chasing your dreams.
Your dreams are what they are for a reason; you did not choose them but cannot deny them.
Just as you enjoy certain foods and dislike others, there are certain dreams that you have.
Denying these dreams may work on a surface level, just like you can deny that you like chocolate cake, but in the end you will still dream of it and want it.
The point is not to give up on your dreams but to find a different approach to them.
For instance, you may enjoy the taste of chocolate cake, but knowing it is bad for you you may try to find an alternative that tastes just as good.
When you deny it, however, you will simply live in a state of disbelief or denial where you pretend…
