All of us start with nothing, we start with a “Blank Slate”.

From there our genetics and upbringing pushes us into certain directions.

Through countless experiences we grow up, learn, adjust and eventually become who we are.

But is that really our true self?

Or is that just the self that was created through circumstance?

As we grow up we learned to evolve into a person that would get validation, acceptance and love.

We try to adopt the standard set by the world, and attempt to become more confident, more charismatic, wealthier, more productive, more joyful or a thousand other things.

We try to become more than we are now, adding on enough to who we are so that we can be proud of ourselves and feel deserving of love.

But that is just putting on more and more make-up, to the point where we look completely different from the person we once were.

What we have to learn is that our true self is not found by adding more.

It is not found by being more confident, charismatic, wealthier, more productive, and not by having more friends, a better job, more cars or anything else of that nature either.
