Why Meditation Works — A Psychological Take
From a Psychology perspective Meditations do help to attract the things you want in life.
Not because they actually make more things appear, or because they guide the universe to give you the things, nor because you are willing things into creation.
That’s all way more far-fetched than it needs to be.
The simple reason for why meditations and affirmations work, at least to some degree, is because of the way our minds perceive things.
Let me illustrate this with an exercise that Tony Robbins does a lot during his Seminars:
Take a look around the room right now and notice everything that is red.
Really take in everything you can and try to remember as many red things as possible.
Give yourself a couple seconds. Ready?
Okay, now, without looking around the room name everything that is blue.
Difficult isn’t it?
Now take another look around the room and notice the blue things.
You probably find more with that second look around the room, and that is exactly the point.
