Why You Should Never Talk About Your Goals
Many people wish for accountability.
They talk about their dreams and goals to put them into reality, but also so that others will hold them accountable for what they say they will do.
The problem is that most simply do not care.
Well, it’s not that they do not care, but rather that they do not care enough to invest the time and effort in keeping them accountable.
Instead of the accountability many find a diffusion of responsibility with no one to take up the responsibility they have forgone.
Talking to other people about your goals does not help.
It is counterproductive for two main reasons:
- People do not want you to succeed.
- You are only trying to run away from the responsibility yourself.
The truth is that people do not want you to succeed.
Many say they do, sure, but most do not want someone in their circles doing what they cannot.
The people that love you may say they want your best, but most will try to hinder you from success because they do not want to see you change.
For if you change too much, if you become too successful, then they do not have any more excuses as to why they are not…
