Work & Life: Mixing Two Sides To Create The Best Life Possible
There is a fine line between being happy, loving yourself and being happy with where you are and not doing enough, wasting time and wanting more.
Just as there are two sides to every coin there are two sides to consider here as well.
The first side, the one of happiness, self-love and acceptance, is usually derived from inner work. Work that you get through meditation or by listening to spiritual teachers, gurus or Philosophers.
It is usually a side many find too little time in their busy days to apply themselves to, and one that is most often needed desperately.
Many people nowadays would, however, rather drive themselves to depression and burnout than to deal with their inner demons.
Besides, society drives them so far down the other side of the coin, the side of pushing for more, working hard, and keeping high expectations and standards for yourself, that they are too invested to slow down.
The ironic thing is that life will move the fastest and best when both of them work in tandem.
We think we have to commit to one side, either we grind hard or we enjoy ourselves in the moment, either we become CEOs living in glass boxes or esoteric gurus walking barefoot through the jungle.
